Flat High Polish
What it is
A flat, clear, shiny polished edge. Not frosted, not matte, not rough. The edge looks like the glass itself: smooth to the touch and clear to look through from the side. This is the finish to pick when the edge is going to be seen, such as shelves, display pieces, and any exposed edge where you want it to look finished, not just cut.
In the Glass Theory customizer, Flat High Polish is +$2 per piece.

How a machine does it
- The piece is cut to size first.
- The edge goes through a flat edge polisher.
- It is ground smooth, then polished through progressively finer wheels and pads until the frost is gone and the edge turns clear and shiny.
- Water keeps the edge cool and clean while it polishes.
- The result is checked by eye and by touch: smooth and clear, with no dull patches left.
When to pick it
- The edge will be visible or touched
- A shelf, display piece, or open edge
- You want the cleanest, clearest finish
When you do not need it
- The edge will be hidden in a frame, channel, or against a wall
- Seamed is enough for a safe, finished-but-not-shiny edge
